THE FIVE STONES OF DAVID Pr. James Victor Lubwama 1 Samuel 17:40 (NIV)  “ Then he took his staff in his hand, chose five smooth stones from the stream, put them in the pouch of his Shepherd's bag and with his sling in his hand, he approached the Philistine” The stones that David picked refer to the word of God that we receive and keep in our heart. Psalm 119:11(ESV) says: ”  I have stored up your word in my heart,   that I might not sin against you. ” The stream where David picked the stones represents the Holy Spirit. Psalms 46:4 (NIV) says;  “ There is a river whose streams make the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells”. 1 Samuel 17:49 (ESV) "And David put his hand into his bag and took from it a stone and slung it and struck the Philistine on his forehead. WHY WE STRUGGLE Pr. James Victor Lubwama  Genesis 3:17-19 (AMP) "Then to Adam the Lord God said, “Because you have listened [attentively] to the voice of your wife, and have eaten [fruit] from the tree about which I commanded you, saying, ‘You shall not eat of it’; The ground is [now] under a curse because of you." James Victor Lubwama Philippians 4:4-7 (AMP) “Rejoice in the Lord always [delight, take pleasure in Him]; again I will say, rejoice!  5  Let your gentle spirit [your graciousness, unselfishness, mercy, tolerance, and patience] be known to all people. The Lord is near.  6  Do not be anxious or worried about anything, but in everything [every circumstance and situation] by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, continue to make your [specific] requests known to God.  7  And the peace of God [that peace which reassures the heart, that peace] which transcends all understanding, [that peace which] stands guard over your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus [is yours].” Every Christian should know the secret or mystery of rejoicing in the Lord.
