THE FIVE STONES OF DAVID Pr. James Victor Lubwama 1 Samuel 17:40 (NIV)  “ Then he took his staff in his hand, chose five smooth stones from the stream, put them in the pouch of his Shepherd's bag and with his sling in his hand, he approached the Philistine” The stones that David picked refer to the word of God that we receive and keep in our heart. The Lord is near.  6  Do not be anxious or worried about anything, but in everything [every circumstance and situation] by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, continue to make your [specific] requests known to God.  7  And the peace of God [that peace which reassures the heart, that peace] which transcends all understanding, [that peace which] stands guard over your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus [is yours].” Every Christian should know the secret or mystery of rejoicing in the Lord. Joy is crucial to Christian life and a core ingredient in the Salvation journey - God's children are commanded to rejoice and are characterised by joy. The devil speaks in our lives every day but the weapo
