WHY WE STRUGGLE
Pr.
James Victor Lubwama
Genesis
3:17-19 (AMP)
"Then to Adam the
Lord God said, “Because you have listened [attentively] to the voice of your
wife, and have eaten [fruit] from the tree about which I commanded you, saying,
‘You shall not eat of it’; The ground is [now] under a curse because of
you." In sorrow and toil you shall eat [the fruit] of it all the days of
your life. 18 “Both thorns and
thistles it shall grow for you; and you shall eat the plants of the field. 19 “By the sweat of your face you will
eat bread until you return to the ground, for from it you were taken; For you
are dust, and to dust you shall return.”
From
the beginning God had a perfect plan for mankind, however, because of
disobedience, man opened a door to struggling and a curse was declared in
Genesis 3:17 (AMP); "......In
sorrow and toil you shall eat [the fruit] of it all the days of your life"
It is okay for one to start small but with indication of progress; and it is okay for one to face challenges while God is with you at every step. But in most cases, struggling is as a result of disobedience and rebellion, as seen from the scripture above.
Reasons Why People Struggle
It is okay for one to start small but with indication of progress; and it is okay for one to face challenges while God is with you at every step. But in most cases, struggling is as a result of disobedience and rebellion, as seen from the scripture above.
Reasons Why People Struggle
1. Doing something that God
doesn't expect you to do.
There
is what God calls the work of your hands (Deuteronomy 28:12, Psalm 90:17). God will only give you grace and provision
for what He has started - He won't bless what He has not started neither will
He finish it. Where there is a will, there will always be a
way; God’s hand will not take you where His grace cannot sustain you.
All
successful ventures like ministries, jobs, businesses, marriages and others begin with God;
every rightful thing starts with the word of God - He spoke the world into
existence (John 1:1-3). If
you want to see blessings and victory in your ventures, let God be your Alpha - hear from Him first and then act in faith. Psalms 27:4 (AMP) says;
"One thing I have
desired of the Lord, that will I seek: That I may dwell in the house of the
Lord All the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to inquire
in His temple."
Sometimes
God is surprised when He meets us in places we shouldn’t be. For example, one may be in Canada yet God expects you to be in Uganda; this means that all you undertake in Ontario will be fruitless.
Every born-again Christian must be sheltered by the cloud; for it is the cloud that led Israel through the desert (Exodus 13:21). In our day to day, the cloud is the Holy Spirit. You should ask for counsel or direction from Him about every aspect of your life because He has a complete plan concerning you (2 Corinthians 2:10, John 16:13 )
2. Doing the right thing in the wrong place

2. Doing the right thing in the wrong place
At times we struggle because we do the right things in the wrong place. For
example, opening a pizza outlet in a village setting. Some business are set
up in the wrong places. Strategic location of a business determines its
level of success. Before setting up a business, ensure that you are responding
to the need of the locality. You must also have the passion and the art of the
business you want to venture in. When you work in the time-frame of God, you
don't struggle, His provision and grace will be upon you.
3. Doing the right thing in the wrong season.
3. Doing the right thing in the wrong season.
Farmers
know which type of crop to plant in a particular season. Likewise, depending on
the season, God gives the grace for a particular season. There are watchmen of
Zion who can discern seasons and if you inquire from them, they can guide you.
The
Holy Spirit knows the heart of the Father and thus reveals the right seasons to
His children. God speaks to all of us but sometimes we are slow or too distracted to hear and understand Him. Always check with the watchmen of Zion (prophets, pastors) who are
familiar with God's voice. Isaiah 21:11-12 (NIV) says:
“Someone calls to me from
Seir, “Watchman, what is left of the night? Watchman, what is left of the
night?” 12 The watchman replies, “Morning
is coming, but also the night. If you would ask, then ask; and come back yet
again.”
It’s
important to note that we do not open our doors, our doors are opened
automatically. Don't force the seasons and don’t move things before the season
is right.
