WHY WORRY?
Pr. James Victor Lubwama
Matthew 6:25-33 (AMP)
“Therefore
I tell you, stop being worried or anxious (perpetually uneasy, distracted)
about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your
body, as to what you will wear….………….31
Therefore do not worry or be anxious (perpetually uneasy, distracted), saying,
‘What are we going to eat?’ or ‘What are we going to drink?’ or ‘What are we
going to wear?’ 32 For the [pagan]
Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; [but do not worry,] for your heavenly
Father knows that you need them. 33
But first and most importantly seek (aim at, strive after) His kingdom and His
righteousness [His way of doing and being right—the attitude and character of
God], and all these things will be given to you also”
God gave us a Rhema Word or Prophesy in the month
of August that the last five months of the year 2019 will be a resurrection
season and the Lord is going to bring all dead things to life. However, just
like the disciples in the scripture above, some Christians are so worried about
how it shall be since the year has almost come to an end and their wish list is
untouched, and with little or no accomplishment. Its at this time of the year that worry kicks in and our faith
weakens. However, worry will never work for you but it works on you - it takes a toll on
your health. The bible says in Proverbs 12:25 (NLT) that;
“Worry
weighs a person down; an encouraging word cheers up a person”
When Jesus first called the disciples to follow
him, they had jobs but they dropped them for the sake of the work of God. God
had a plan for their lives, but He wanted them to seek the kingdom of God first
and get themselves rooted in the Word of God. If we seek for material blessings
first, we can easily be swayed and taken back to the world because we are not
spiritually mature enough to discern the lies of the devil.
Because you are a child of God, your heavenly
Father knows your needs and has a plan to give them to you – His supply is
abundant. You just need to believe and have faith in God. Our problem as
Christians is that we don't take time to truly and deeply know God. If He was
able to heal, transform, give the barren children, won’t He do much more for
you? Aren't you more valuable to him than the lilies of the field and the birds
of the air? If He was able to give you life, won’t He give you mere food and
clothes? Isn't life much more than food, drinks and clothes? Why then worry?
God is familiar with our ways; He knows our
thoughts while they are still afar. Our heavenly Father knows what you need.
The bible says in Psalms 139:1-2 (ESV) that;
“O Lord,
you have searched me and known me! 2
You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you discern my thoughts from
afar.”
God knows all your needs; He knows that you need a job, husband, house and child, and it is His
responsibility to make a way and supply all your needs. He will provide for you regardless of the
situation (Psalm 37:25). If you keep the faith and stay the path, He will turn your
water into wine. For the victorious resurrecting King will resurrect your
situation and bring the dead things to life.
God will not use the same way that you are familiar
with, but He has already laid up a plan for your salvation. He knew that the
Israelites will come from Egypt and that pharaoh would pursue them. So He
created away in the sea. No one knew about the existence of a road in the
water. God had created it beforehand and concealed it. The way of the Lord is
concealed; it is not comparable to the ways of humans. The deliverance of the
Jews was hidden in Queen Esther, no knew that by her becoming queen, salvation
will come to the Jews (Esther 4). God already has a solution for all your problems
and challenges; there is a way for you that you do not know of.
In this last quarter of the year, because you are a
child of God, cast all your burdens unto
the Lord and He will sustain you (Psalm 55:22). Your savvy ways, your job,
husband, family and connections may fail you but God will never fail. Man is
limited yet God isn't; for His ways are higher than ours (Isaiah 55:9)
Worry not, be hopeful and have faith in God; for He
will come to your rescue and resurrect your situation; and crown the year with
goodness and abundance (Psalm 65:11)
Ezekiel 37:11-13 (NIV)
Then he said to
me: “Son of man, these bones are the people of Israel. They say, ‘Our bones are
dried up and our hope is gone; we are cut off.’ 12 Therefore prophesy and say to them: ‘This is what the
Sovereign Lord says: My people, I am going to open your graves and
bring you up from them; I will bring you back to the land of Israel. 13 Then you, my people, will know
that I am the Lord, when I open your graves and bring you up from
them.
Amen.. This powerful , am blessed by this blog.. Thanks for sharing the word of God
