WHY WORRY? Pr. James Victor Lubwama Matthew 6:25-33 (AMP) “Therefore I tell you, stop being worried or anxious (perpetually uneasy, distracted) about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, as to what you will wear….…………. 31 Therefore do not worry or be anxious (perpetually uneasy, distracted), saying, ‘What are we going to eat?’ or ‘What are we going to drink?’ or ‘What are we going to wear?’ 32 For the [pagan] Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; [but do not worry,] for your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But first and most importantly seek (aim at, strive after) His kingdom and His righteousness [His way of doing and being right—the attitude and character of God], and all these things will be given to you also” God gave us a Rhema Word or Prophesy in the month of August that the last five months of the year 2019 will be a resurrection season and the Lord is going to bring all dead things to life. However, just

THE PRICE Pr. James Victor Lubwama 1 Kings 3:3-5 (NLT) "Solomon loved the Lord and followed all the decrees of his father, David, except that Solomon, too, offered sacrifices and burned incense at the local places of worship.  4  The most important of these places of worship was at Gibeon, so the king went there and sacrificed 1,000 burnt offerings.  5  That night the Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream, and God said, “What do you want? Ask, and I will give it to you” Have you walked into a shop lately? Have you imagined or looked at the items you want to purchase? If you observe keenly, every item has a price. There are many things in life that we look at and admire. Whether physical or spiritual, at the back of your mind you should know that there is a price attached to everything. It may not always be monetary but you will have to pay a price for something you desire or want to attain either inform of a sacrifice, time, commitment, prayer, fasting etc. Pa

GRACE - THE UNMERITED FAVOUR OF GOD Pr. James Victor Lubwama There are two definitions of Grace: - 1. The divine enablement of God. 2. The unmerited favour of God. For something to be unmerited means that it is undeserved. Anything good that we experience is a result of the grace of God ( Ephesians2:5 ). Grace is God blessing us despite the fact that we do not deserve it - Its freely given.   God favors, or gives us good things that we do not deserve and could never earn. Rescued from judgment by God's mercy, grace is anything and everything we receive beyond that mercy. Romans 3:23-24 (ESV) that; “F or all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,   24  and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus” Saving grace is that special dispensation of grace whereby God sovereignly bestows unmerited divine assistance upon His elect. Saving grace results in our sanctification, the process by which God conforms us to the

THE FIVE STONES OF DAVID Pr. James Victor Lubwama 1 Samuel 17:40 (NIV)  “ Then he took his staff in his hand, chose five smooth stones from the stream, put them in the pouch of his Shepherd's bag and with his sling in his hand, he approached the Philistine” The stones that David picked refer to the word of God that we receive and keep in our heart. Psalm 119:11(ESV) says: ”  I have stored up your word in my heart,   that I might not sin against you. ” The stream where David picked the stones represents the Holy Spirit. Psalms 46:4 (NIV) says;  “ There is a river whose streams make the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells”. 1 Samuel 17:49 (ESV) "And David put his hand into his bag and took from it a stone and slung it and struck the Philistine on his forehead. And the stone sank into his forehead, so that he fell on his face to the ground" .   David applied the  Rhema  word from the Holy Spirit to defeat the devil; It took one ston

WHY WE STRUGGLE Pr. James Victor Lubwama  Genesis 3:17-19 (AMP) "Then to Adam the Lord God said, “Because you have listened [attentively] to the voice of your wife, and have eaten [fruit] from the tree about which I commanded you, saying, ‘You shall not eat of it’; The ground is [now] under a curse because of you." In sorrow and toil you shall eat [the fruit] of it all the days of your life. 18 “Both thorns and thistles it shall grow for you; and you shall eat the plants of the field. 19 “By the sweat of your face you will eat bread until you return to the ground, for from it you were taken; For you are dust, and to dust you shall return.” From the beginning God had a perfect plan for mankind, however, because of disobedience, man opened a door to struggling and a curse was declared in Genesis 3:17 (AMP); "......In sorrow and toil you shall eat [the fruit] of it all the days of your life"   It is okay for one to start small but with indication of pro

REJOICE IN THE LORD Pr. James Victor Lubwama Philippians 4:4-7 (AMP) “Rejoice in the Lord always [delight, take pleasure in Him]; again I will say, rejoice!  5  Let your gentle spirit [your graciousness, unselfishness, mercy, tolerance, and patience] be known to all people. The Lord is near.  6  Do not be anxious or worried about anything, but in everything [every circumstance and situation] by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, continue to make your [specific] requests known to God.  7  And the peace of God [that peace which reassures the heart, that peace] which transcends all understanding, [that peace which] stands guard over your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus [is yours].” Every Christian should know the secret or mystery of rejoicing in the Lord. Joy is crucial to Christian life and a core ingredient in the Salvation journey - God's children are commanded to rejoice and are characterised by joy. The devil speaks in our lives every day but the weapo

SILENCING THE VOICES THAT SPEAK IN OUR LIVES Pr. James Victor Lubwama Matthew 4:5-11 (NIV) ‘ Then the devil took him to the holy city and had him stand on the highest point of the temple.  6  “If you are the Son of God,” he said, “throw yourself down. For it is written: “He will command his angels concerning you,  and they will lift you up in their hands,  so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.”  7  Jesus answered him, “It is also written: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.” 8  Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor.  9  “All this I will give you,” he said, “if you will bow down and worship me.” 10  Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.” 11  Then the devil left him, and angels came and attended him.’ There are silent   destructive  voices that speak in our lives which usually discourage our hope and i

LESSONS IN THE DESERT Pr. James Victor Lubwama Deuteronomy 8:2-5 (MSG) "Remember every road that God led you on for those forty years in the wilderness, pushing you to your limits, testing you so that he would know what you were made of, whether you would keep his commandments or not. He put you through hard times. He made you go hungry. Then he fed you with manna, something neither you nor your parents knew anything about, so you would learn that men and women don’t live by bread only; we live by every word that comes from God’s mouth. Your clothes didn’t wear out and your feet didn’t blister those forty years. You learned deep in your heart that God disciplines you in the same ways a father disciplines his child." There is a place called a  desert  in every person's life. It can best be explained as a season of dryness, lack or scarcity. It is that season of insufficiency, a season of testing and trial. It is that time when things do not work out as expecte

THE SPIRIT OF SLUMBER Acts 20:7-9 "Now on the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul, ready to depart the next day, spoke to them and continued his message until midnight........9 And in a window sat a certain young man named Eutychus, who was sinking into a deep sleep. He was overcome by sleep; and as Paul continued speaking, he fell down from the third story and was taken up dead" The scripture above refers to a lukewarm believer with one leg in church and another in the world. Sitting at the window presents a good position - you get fresh air, you are highly elevated than others & you even have a better view. But it also implies that your attention is divided - you're listening to the preacher and also looking at other things outside Many born-again Christians are living a double life; they view what is in church but also keep on looking at the outside world - worldly thoughts & past lifestyle. Sleep starts sl

JESUS - OUR PERFECT STANDARD Luke 2:52 (ESV) "And Jesus increased in wisdom and in stature and in favor with God and man" Having a human body, Jesus was born, he grew, he thirsted, he hungered, he wept, he slept, he sweated, he bled, and he died. Jesus did not simply emerge from heaven preaching the kingdom. He learned to latch and crawl, to walk and talk. Perhaps he broke a finger or hurt his nail working in the carpentry workshop. He got sick faced all human challenges and learned social graces and worked as a laborer in relative obscurity more in adult life. All four Gospels reveal his three year ministry to the final day of his life on earth. But what was the Son of God doing most of his earthly life? He was growing. What did he do for three decades between his celebrated birth and his anointed ministry? He walked the ordinary path of basic human growth and development. Jesus grew in all aspects of life 1- Wisdom This is the ability to use knowledge, i
