TAKE A STAND AND WATCH Pr. James Victor Lubwama Exodus 2:1-4 (AMP) “Now a man of the house of Levi [the priestly tribe] went and took as his wife a daughter of Levi.  2  The woman conceived and gave birth to a son; and when she saw that he was [especially] beautiful and healthy, she hid him for three months [to protect him from the Egyptians].  3  When she could no longer hide him, she got him a basket (chest) made of papyrus reeds and covered it with tar and pitch [making it waterproof]. Then she put the child in it and set it among the reeds by the bank of the Nile.  4  And his sister [Miriam] stood some distance away to find out what would happen to him.” By the time of Moses’ birth, Pharaoh had ordered all new born Hebrew males to be killed. But when Moses was born, the parents hid him so as to spare his life. At around three months, his parents could not hide him anymore so he was put in a basket by the river banks so that the mother could nurse him whenever necessary; a

ABSOLUTE DEPENDENCE ON THE WORD OF GOD What do you do when amidst a sea of troubles and there's no one to rescue you? You stand still and see the salvation of the Lord - you will never know that God is all you have until God is all you have got. Standing still means standing on the rock which is the word of God - w e should learn to exercise absolute dependence on the word of God; for God can never forsake us if we trust Him wholeheartedly. Psalm 62:6-8 (NKJV) says; “ He only is my rock and my salvation ; H e is my defense; I shall not be moved.  7 In God is my salvation and my glory ; the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.  8 Trust in Hi m at all times; you people ; pour out your heart before H im ; God is a refuge for us” Cling on the promises of God and you will see the salvation of the Lord. Whenever you are faced with terror, let God be your first priority because He is our refuge, strength and a very present help in times of trouble ( Psalm

IT IS NOT NEW Pr. James Victor Lubwama Ecclesiastes 3:15 (NLT) “What is happening now has happened before, and what will happen in the future has happened before, because God makes the same things happen over and over again.” The challenges you are facing or problems you are going through are not new. There is someone who has gone through the same furnace and encountered the same setbacks. The trials in your life are no different from what others experience, but the difference is in how we react or respond to them; for one may choose to be silent about it; another may share it with a colleague, while another someone else may choose to surrender them unto the Lord.  But irrespective of what you are going through, take note of the following:  1. It is not Beyond Your Ability. 1 Corinthians 10:13 (MSG) “All you need to remember is that God will never let you down; he’ll never let you be pushed past your limit; he’ll always be there to help you come through it.

EFFECTIVE AND FERVENT PRAYER Pr. James Victor Lubwama James 5:16 (NKJV) ''Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much." We have prayed alot but our prayers have yielded nothing. This is because when we talk to the Father, we present ourselves in a carnal state. So, how do you pray effectively? 1. Purify your heart and mind Close off yourself from worrisome and stressing issues such as lack, disappointment or any other kind of diversion that is causing a frantic mood, and primarily focus on the most High God. You can’t pray effectively when your mind is in riot. Psalms 46:10 (AMP) says; “Be still, and know (recognize, understand) that I am God” 2. Repent and forgive God will forgive your sins, inequities and transgressions if you repent. 2 Chronicles 7:14 (NLT) says;  ''If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and

PROMISE KEEPER; A GOD WHO FULFILLS HIS PROMISES Pr. James Victor Lubwama 2 Peter 3:9 (GW) “The Lord isn’t slow to do what he promised, as some people think. Rather, he is patient for your sake” The life of Abraham the grandfather of faith offers great lessons to us this present day because we are walking the same journey of faith. He lived a very long blessed life. We are just like him because of our connection through Jesus, and we too shall live a long fruitful life. Abraham  lived to witness the birth of his twin grandsons Jacob and Esau. Genesis 25:7-9 (NIV) says; “ Abraham lived a hundred and seventy-five years.   8 Then Abraham breathed his last and died at a good old age, an old man and full of years; and he was gathered to his people. 9 His sons Isaac and Ishmael buried him in the cave of Machpelah near Mamre, in the field of Ephron son of Zohar the Hittite” When Abraham was old and without child, God had made a covenant with Him that he will make him the fa

KEEP YOUR HOPE ALIVE After the birth of Joseph, his father Jacob desired to return home where he was raised ( Genesis 30:25 ). Joseph was one of the sons of Jacob born to him by Rachel, and he was so unique because of two things: 1- He had the presence of God with him, he loved God. Genesis 39:2 (ESV) says; “The LORD was with Joseph, and he became a successful man……” 2- He had a dream and believed in it. Genesis 37:5-9 (NIV) says; “Joseph had a dream, and when he told it to his brothers, they hated him all the more.  6 He said to them, “Listen to this dream I had:  7 We were binding sheaves of grain out in the field when suddenly my sheaf rose and stood upright, while your sheaves gathered around mine and bowed down to it”……… 9 Then he had another dream, and he told it to his brothers. “Listen,” he said, “I had another dream, and this time the sun and moon and eleven stars were bowing down to me” Even when he went to prison, Joseph still believed in his dream.
