SPIRITUAL CIRCUMFERENCE Pr. James Victor Lubwama The church attracts many believers from all walks of life; however, not everyone who comes to our church is pastored by me (spiritual children). Some come to the ministry because of the calling and anointing upon the pastor like the miracle working power. There are two categories of people in church; 1. The ones that I pastor (spiritual children) 2. The ones that i pray for (followers) The distinction is created by the people themselves; by how they relate with me as a pastor, their ability to imitate me as i imitate Christ and by following my instructions. Paul tells the Christians in 1 Corinthians 4:15-16 (NLT) that; "For I became your father in Christ Jesus when I preached the Good News to you. 16 So I urge you to imitate me." And in 1 Corinthians 11:1 (NLT) he says; "And you should imitate me, just as I imitate Christ." You can be able to tell the difference between the people I pastor a...

DO NOT FEAR THEIR gods Pr. James Victor Lubwama Judges 6:8-10 (NKJV) “That the Lord sent a prophet to the children of Israel, who said to them, “Thus says the Lord God of Israel: ‘I brought you up from Egypt and brought you out of the house of bondage; 9 and I delivered you out of the hand of the Egyptians and out of the hand of all who oppressed you, and drove them out before you and gave you their land. 10 Also I said to you, “I am the Lord your God; do not fear the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell.” The story of Gideon, in the book of Judges, is about God, and how he operates in the lives of his children. God’s interactions with Gideon are gentle, loving, patient, and gracious. God is full of mercy and justice, fully loving toward his people and wrathful toward their enemies If God brought you out of Egypt, and took you to a land you knew not, He will also protect and sustain you as well. The Lord of Salvation who delivered you out of Egypt from ...

THE FOUR (4) WEAPONS FOR A CHRISTIAN Pr. James Victor Lubwama Ordinarily, when we speak about waging war, there are certain things the world would expect to see; for instance if Uganda is to go to war, the commander in chief will open up the armory and get the most suitable weapons to use like; tanks, choppers, guns, bullet proof vests, etc. Just like earthly governments, heaven also has its own armory. Jeremiah 50:25 (NKJV) says; " The Lord has opened His armory, and has brought out the weapons of His indignation; for this is the work of the Lord God of hosts in the land of the Chaldeans." As Christians, we do not fight against flesh and blood ( Ephesians 6:12 ) and thus our weapons are not physical (carnal) but spiritual. 2 Corinthians 10:4 (NKJV) says: "For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds" The 4 weapons of our warfare are; 1.The Word of God. It is His plan ...

THREE (3) WEAPONS THE DEVIL USES Pr. James Victor Lubwama The devil fights us in three ways, that is through; facts of life, words and thoughts that roam through our minds. 1. Facts While in the quiet of the day, the devil whispers to you. Who knows you? Where will you find a job in this poorly performing economy? At this age do you still expect to get married? He uses facts of life to fight you, and the more you meditate on them, the more they become real, which eventually breeds worry. His aim is to use facts of life and about you to discourage you and kill your hope in the future and faith in God, but be informed that God has a good plan for you; “plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” – Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV). What you have got to do is to defeat the facts of life using the truth - word of God. You are what God says you about you ( Gal 3:9 , Deut 28:13 , Eph 1:7 , Rom 8:1 ) The opinion...

KEEP YOUR LAMP BURNING Pr. James Victor Lubwama Matthew 25:1-13 (NKJV) “Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. 2 Now five of them were wise, and five were foolish. 3 Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them, 4 but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. 5 But while the bridegroom was delayed, they all slumbered and slept. 6 “And at midnight a cry was heard: ‘Behold, the bridegroom is coming; go out to meet him!’ 7 Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps. 8 And the foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’ 9 But the wise answered, saying, ‘No, lest there should not be enough for us and you; but go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.’ 10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding; and the door was shut. 11 “Afterward the oth...

HEBREW WOMEN Pr. James Victor Lubwama Exodus 1:15-20 (NLT) "Then Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, gave this order to the Hebrew midwives, Shiphrah and Puah: 16 “When you help the Hebrew women as they give birth, watch as they deliver. If the baby is a boy, kill him; if it is a girl, let her live.” 17 But because the midwives feared God, they refused to obey the king’s orders. They allowed the boys to live, too. 18 So the king of Egypt called for the midwives. “Why have you done this?” he demanded. “Why have you allowed the boys to live?” 19 “The Hebrew women are not like the Egyptian women,” the midwives replied. “They are more vigorous and have their babies so quickly that we cannot get there in time. 20 So God was good to the midwives, and the people [of Israel] multiplied and became very strong" The death of Christ ushered in the new covenant ( Mathew 26:28 ) under which we are justified by God's grace and mercy; Jesus Himself is the Mediator of this b...

WHOSE REPORT WILL YOU BELIEVE? Pr. Geoffrey Kibombo Acts 4:18-20 (NIV) “Then they called them in again and commanded them not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus. 19 But Peter and John replied, "Which is right in God’s eyes: to listen to you, or to him? You be the judges! 20 As for us, we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard." We have seen God do a lot of things in our lives. However, amidst problems many people are lost or confused about what to believe and on where to anchor their hope. In life, there are two sides from which one has to choose what to believe; you can either choose to believe God or you can choose to follow the enemy - the devil who is opposed to godly things. We have received a lot of promises from God through; prophesy and His word, and when we receive the Rhema word, our minds start imagining how those words will come to pass. We start expecting and assuming that God will bring them to pass in ways in-line w...

STAND STILL Pr. James Victor Lubwama 2 Chronicles 20:17 "You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord" Standing still means that you stand on the rock - word of God. If you want God to fight for you, you need to standstill; if you want to see the Salvation of the Lord, you should stand on the rock – Rhema or Logos word. The word of God goes before His work. When storms strike your life always remember to standstill on the word of God, because if you are not standing on the rock, you will be consumed by the storm If you want to see God's hand at work in your life; if you want to see the Salvation of the Lord; if you want God to fight your battles, get hold of His Word, believe it and confess it daily. Before God heals, He sends his word first. The word that proceeds from the mouth of the Lord is the rock that you need to stand on. Psalm 107:20 (NLT) says; "He sent out his word and hea...

PRAY IN THE SPIRIT Pr. James Victor Lubwama Prayer is an appeal of the things you need from the Lord; its dialogue between man and God; it's a way to realise the will of God ( Psalm 25:4 ), and learning how to pray ( Mathew 6:9-15 ) strengthens your relationship with God. Authentic prayer is communication between your heart and God Praying in the spirit and not in one's understanding (carnal state) does not mean that you will not understand what you are saying, but implies that you will pray in unity with the Holy spirit - for your mind and heart will completely be focused on God. Be aware that God is a S pirit. John 4:24 (AMP) says; "God is a Spirit (a spiritual Being) and those who worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth (reality)" Human beings are both flesh and spirit. We exist in two worlds - physical and spiritual ; thus to communicate with God (God is a Spirit), we must use our spirits. A Carnal Christian can neither commun...
