IF ONLY YOU CAN BELIEVE

Pr. James Victor Lubwama
John 11:40-42 (AMP)
'Jesus said to her, “Did I not say to you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God [the expression of His excellence]? 41 Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead man was lying. And Jesus lifted up His eyes and said, “Father, I thank You that You have heard Me. 42 And I know that You always hear Me, but because of the people who are standing by I said this, that they may believe that You sent Me.”
To believe is to have confidence in the truth, or the reliability of something although without absolute proof that one is right in doing so. Its only when one believes in something that he or can act purposefully. When you believe, you accept and with faith expect that whatever you have been told will come to pass. You then change your confession and speak like Mary did in Luke 1:38 (NKJV):
"Then Mary said, “Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word."
If God has promised to do something for you, He cannot fail to do it - for He is not like a son of man who lie or change their mind, but when He promises, He fulfills (Numbers 23:19). He is not going to do it your way but His way; for His ways are not your ways - Isaiah 55:8. Just condition your heart to believe. Don't lean on your own understanding but believe God, for He is faithful to perform what He promised. No word from His mouth will return empty or fail to accomplish what He purposed. The bible says in Isaiah 55:10-11 (NKJV) that;
“For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, And do not return there, But water the earth, And make it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater, 11 So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it".
When you believe, you will surely see God's hand. The same God who raised Lazarus from the dead will also raise your dead situation and bring it to life, if you believe and have faith in His word
Romans 4:16 (AMP)

“Therefore, [inheriting] the promise depends entirely on faith [that is, confident trust in the unseen God], in order that it may be given as an act of grace [His unmerited favor and mercy], so that the promise will be [legally] guaranteed to all the descendants [of Abraham]—not only for those [Jewish believers] who keep the Law, but also for those [Gentile believers] who share the faith of Abraham, who is the [spiritual] father of us all”
